FCC Requires Carriers to Allow Roaming on Unused Spectrum

Electronista: FCC panel votes to require wireless providers to let other operators access their carrier networks when roaming in areas where the provider owns spectrum but doesn't offer coverage.

"This reverses a 2007 order, and the FCC also began discussing if automatic roaming rules should apply to mobile data services. The FCC-mandated roaming rates should also be more reasonable than they have been to date."
