"There has also been a rumor that Google is controlling the update path to Android 3.0 Honeycomb via its licensing agreements. It is said that the agreement prevents upgrading from earlier versions of Android, like 2.2 Froyo or 2.3 Gingerbread, up to version 3.0. HTC's upcoming Flyer tablet is scheduled to be released with Android 2.4, however HTC has said that this news has not impacted its honeycomb plans for the Flyer."
