Apple May Upgrade iPhone 5 to 8 Megapixel Camera
Brighthand: CEO of Sony indicates major camera upgrade for Apple's next smartphone.
"CEO Howard Stringer was being interviewed by Walt Mossberg from the The Wall Street Journal when he said that the earthquake in Japan is going to delay shipments from Sonys image sensor factory in Sendai to device makers like Apple."
"This should raise a few eyebrows because at this time, Apple doesn't use Sony image sensors. However, there have been unconfirmed reports in the past that this is going to change."
"If the iPhone 5 does include a camera made by Sony, the best candidate is the Exmor R, which has an 8-megapixel resolution. The current iPhone 4 has a 5-megapixel camera."
