RIM CEO Responds to Critics
TFTS: Mike Lazaridis doesn't understand the negativity of some critics regarding his company.
"For example, during the previous fiscal year, RIM shipped 52.3 million phones. And for those wondering, that is not only a record for RIM but also a 43 percent increase over what they did during the previous year. Furthermore, they managed to exceed forecasts for the fourth quarter income coming in at $924 million."
"Given that, some of the statements from Lazaridis make you think. Of course, he was on the defensive going after the critics asking why people cannot appreciate their (RIM’s) growth and profits. And going a bit further stating that they now have “500 carriers in 170 countries with products in almost 30 languages.”"
