Motorola Delays Droid Bionic Smartphone

geek.com: 4G LTE mobile device won't ship until the third quarter of this year.

"The rumors and speculation swirling around the Droid Bionic have been intense over the past several weeks. The device was supposed to be Motorola’s first dual-core phone on Verizon Wireless‘ 4G LTE network, and was heralded at CES in January as the slightly lower-powered twin to the Motorola Atrix on AT&T, only with 4G speed to beef it back up. Now, Motorola is weighing in on the matter and confirms that the device will be pushed to Q3 of this year, meaning we won’t see a release until July at the earliest."

"Even though a leaked Costco release schedule yesterday showed that the Bionic was headed to store shelves as soon as the middle of next month, Droid-Life wasn’t convinced. They’re confident that the upcoming Droid Targa will be released in mid-May, taking the Bionic’s place in the release lineup. At the same time, they were also one of the first sources earlier in the week noting that the Droid Bionic may be on the chopping block. The phone was originally scheduled for a Q2 release."
