Apple Accounted for 85% of Tablet Market Last Year

The Inquirer: Apple won't own the market in quite the same way in 2011.

"The not all too surprising dominance of the Ipad mostly boils down to the fact that there wasn't much competition in 2010. The Ipad launched in April of last year, taking the world by storm, and rivals were caught flat-footed and had to play catchup for the rest of the year as they scrambled to release tablets of their own."

"Of those rivals, Samsung performed best, with its Android-based Galaxy Tab coming in second place to the Ipad. This still only represented a market share of eight per cent, however, which was nowhere near enough to give Apple a real run for its money."
