AT&T to Add 4G LTE to 14 More Markets

AT&T announced today it will roll out 4G LTE service to 12 additional markets between April and early summer. The additional markets will bring AT&T’s total number of 4G LTE markets to 40.

The new markets are as follows:

* Bloomington, Lafayette, and Muncie, Ind.

* Naples, Fla.

* Baton Rouge and New Orleans, La.

* St. Louis, Mo.

* Akron, Canton and Cleveland, Ohio

* Bryan-College Station, Texas

* Staten Island in New York City.

In 2011 and earlier this year, AT&T introduced its 4G LTE service to such major metro areas as Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas-Forth, Houston, Las Vegas, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York City. AT&T is offering 4G LTE service to a few smaller markets, too, such as Chapel Hill, N.C.

The 4G LTE service will begin showing up in these additional markets not long after Apple’s new iPad hits the scene. The latest iPad offers 4G network service from either AT&T or Verizon.
