WebEx Conferencing, Collaborating Goes Mobile
The conferencing and collaborating package WebEx from Cisco Systems will soon be available for more handheld devices. Symbian, Windows Mobile and BlackBerry devices will be compatible by April, allowing meeting participants full access to presentations, audio and video from those types of smartphones.
The WebEx Meeting Center was introduced for the Apple iPhone earlier this year and users with other devices were limited to audio-only participation.
Attending WebEx meetings requires either Wi-Fi or 3G connectivity. With the additional operating systems integrated into WebEx, the difference between iPhone and other participants will disappear and anyone choosing to attend will be a full member of the meeting regardless of hardware.
