The BlackBerry Storm was badly bruised by reviewers soon after its release. So much so you might expect it to be the worst product of 2008. But the Storm is far from that—especially after a much-needed and welcome software update.

While the Instinct's not an iPhone killer, or even necessarily an iPhone wounder, it does successfully take some design cues from it and is a compelling device in its own right.

The Touch Diamond has a gorgeous, vibrantly colored touch screen, like the iPhone, but it's built on Windows Mobile Professional 6.1, featuring HTC's own TouchFlo interface.
