While it's true that iTunes has some compelling services, the media player itself leaves many power users yearning for something more—for instance, Songbird, amaroK and Banshee—the open source alternatives to iTunes covered in this article.

The sync tools are already out there, we just need someone to bring them together and provide a common means of making mobile synchronization available for everyone.
