Google: Paid Apps for Unlocked Android a No-Go

Google has decided to clamp down on paid applications for unlocked Android G1 phones, according to Wired.com.

If you bought an HTC G1, you won't be able to buy paid apps for unlocked models, as Google aims to combat privacy. You can still purchase software for the T-Mobile edition of th first "gPhone," however.

Two weeks ago, Google allowed customers to buy paid apps for unlocked gPhones via the Android Market store. Not anymore.
